Complaints SCHEME

The Leeds Law Society will only handle complaints against Leeds solicitors and any complaint must be submitted in writing to 1 Albion Place, Leeds LS1 6JL.

The letter should include the name of the solicitor concerned, the name of the practice and brief details of the nature of the complaint. Photocopies of any relevant information should be included.

The administrative staff then pass the letter on to one of two Local Conciliation Officers who have been appointed and trained by the Legal Complaints Service. They in turn will correspond with the complainant and also the firm of solicitors with a view to resolving the problem.

The Local Conciliation Officers may refer the complaint on to the Legal Complaints Service if necessary. Likewise, the complainant may contact the Legal Complaints Service if they feel the service provided by the Leeds Law Society has not been acceptable.
