Backed by the Leeds Law Society and regional office of The Law Society of England and Wales, ‘Leeds Legal’ is dedicated to raising the profile of the Leeds legal profession and will officially launch next month to promote the wealth of legal talent within the city.
The cream of the Leeds legal profession will work together as an alliance to promote the high levels of service, expertise, no-nonsense advice and value for money service provided by the city’s law firms.
By marketing law firms in Leeds as a collective and giving them one voice, Leeds Legal will seek to attract national and international corporate clients to the city and also enable local law practices to attract and retain the highest quality legal staff. The marketing campaign will promote areas of particular specialist legal advice, such as IT, Energy, Competition, Property and Intellectual Property law as well as the wider expertisewhich the Leeds legal profession offers.
Leeds Legal is funded by a number of commercial sponsors including UKTI, Millnet – the UK’s leading printer of legal documents, Jet2 airlines, Hilton Hotels and Leeds Met University. Leeds-based corporate legal practices, Pinsent Masons, DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary and Lupton Fawcett are spearheading the campaign which will also be supported by Marketing Leeds and the Leeds Financial Services Initiative.
Regarded as the UK’s largest legal city outside of London, Leeds is a hotbed of legal talent, with many leading national law firms founded in the city. Law firms in Leeds not only provide the same high levels of legal expertise as London-based firms, but can also provide a greater value-for-money service to clients who look beyond the capital when seeking legal services.
Leeds-based marketing and PR consultancy, Brahm will be responsible for implementing the Leeds Legal campaign, so that it can achieve its core marketing objectives.
Deborah Green, Yorkshire regional manager for The Law Society of England and Wales, said: “The concept behind Leeds Legal is very simple – we’re promoting world class legal advice from a world class city. Our aim is to bring together law practices from across the city so that they can work together in partnership and help promote Leeds as a corporate legal centre of excellence.
“We are very proud that Leeds Legal is the first ever city-based legal marketing campaign of its kind in the UK and are excited about bringing national and overseas corporate legal business opportunities to Leeds. A large amount of hard work, investment and dedication has been put into this initiative and we feel it will provide a massive boost to the Leeds legal profession and the local economy.”
Leeds Legal will officially launch at a reception at the Houses of Parliament on April 27, 2006, when it will also reveal its plans to generate inward investment opportunities from overseas corporations, in conjunction with its main campaign sponsor, UKTI.
