The twelve-strong delegation, made up of Hong Kong business leaders representing Morgan Stanley, Time Warner, Bank of Montreal and JP Morgan Chase Bank, plus Hong Kong journalists, is visiting Leeds, as part of a two-day flying visit to the Yorkshire region.
Delegates had originally only planned to visit London, during their UK trip, however following a Forward Ladies and UKTI visit to Hong Kong in March, Yorkshire was approached to host the second part of the delegation visit, given the premium business services the region has to offer.
The Yorkshire visit which began yesterday, started with delegates enjoying a tour of York and Castle Howard, before attending a dinner at Harewood House, supported by Marketing Leeds, Leeds Law Society and event managers, Seager Associates.
Today’s programme includes a business briefing by Leeds Legal, held at the Hilton Leeds City hotel, followed by a quick coach tour of Leeds’ business district, before attending the Leeds Financial Services Initiative (LFSI) quarterly lunch, held at the Queen’s Hotel, and accompanied by Leeds-based lawyers and financial advisors.
Just before their return to London later this afternoon, delegates will take part in a short walking tour of the Victorian Quarter of city, hosted by Marketing Leeds.
Deborah Green, regional manager for the Law Society of England and Wales, and a director of Leeds Legal commented:
“We are delighted to host the Hong Kong visitors this week.Leeds Legal were approached to host the visitors, for their fact-finding mission to the city today, and working with Marketing Leeds, LFSI and Seager we have put together a programme that gives our visitors a real taste of what Leeds can offer, both as a centre for business, and for leisure.
“It’s great to bring such a senior delegation out of London, and to show them what Leeds and the Yorkshire region has to offer.”
