In association with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy (BCCI), the visit offers business leaders in both Leeds and Milan, the unique opportunity to learn about doing business in the two cities. The trade mission is part of a continuing programme by Leeds Legal to bring foreign trade into the region.
The delegation, comprising Leeds Legal chairman, Alan M. Baker, chief operating officer of Marketing Leeds, Deborah Green, Richard Marshall from Leeds Legal sponsor, Lupton Fawcett and a team of representatives from other leading Leeds law firms, will spend two days in the city. The packed agenda of activity includes meetings with Milanese lawyers, financial advisors and business leaders, discussions on business environments and the forging of business relationships between Milan and the Yorkshire region.
As part of the visit, the Leeds Legal party will attend a high profile lunch hosted by BCCI, alongside over 50 of Milan’s key businessmen and women, at which Leeds Legal will be the keynote speaker, promoting business and legal opportunities in the city. There will also be an opportunity for in-depth discussions between Italian lawyers and Leeds Legal members about opening reciprocal referrals and cross-border collaboration.
Leeds Legal, which celebrated its first anniversary last month, continues to be one of the most successful city agencies to utilise European and worldwide trade missions, raising the profile of Leeds as a international centre for business and legal services.
Deborah Green, who is also a director of Leeds Legal comments; “The visit to Italy is the largest yet for Leeds Legal, we have a superb programme of events, giving our members a great opportunity to network with Italian businesses, and learn more about collaborative working.
“We were approached by the Deputy Consul General in Milan to bring a delegation to Italy. He had heard about other Leeds Legal European activities and asked if we could add Milan to our list, and of course, we were delighted to oblige.”
The visit to Milan comes as part of an action-packed international schedule for the Leeds Legal campaign, which in February hosted a party of Düsseldorf lawyers visiting Leeds for the first time, followed by a trade mission to Hong Kong in March, as well as welcoming a delegation of Hong Kong visitors to the city earlier this month.
