Leeds Legal welcomes Indian delegation (19th January)

Lawyers from across the Yorkshire region have taken part in an international networking event with a delegation of Indian lawyers, as they visited Leeds last week.

Twenty advisors from India’s leading law firms were welcomed to the city at a lunch, hosted by Leeds Legal – the only marketing campaign of its kind in the UK – at the Hilton Leeds City hotel.

Partners from leading Leeds-based law firms, including Clarion Solicitors, Pinsent Masons and Shulmans Solicitors, attended the lunch, and took part in discussions with their Indian counterparts, exploring opportunities for international business, including cross-border collaboration and referrals.

The Indian delegates were in the UK as part of a week-long visit organised by the Law Society’s International Division.

Alan M. Baker, chairman of Leeds Legal, said: “The visit was an excellent opportunity for Leeds lawyers to meet with international contacts and to develop close links, for their firms and clients.

“We have had considerable success over the last couple of years in leading and hosting international delegations, so we were delighted to support the Law Society’s International Division over an opportunity such as this.”

Leeds Legal is a unique organisation, dedicated to raising the profile of the world-class expertise of the city’s legal services sector. It continues to be one of the most successful city agencies to utilise European and international trade missions.
