 A cross-departmental team of 27 lawyers from Watson Burton has completed a deal to buy apprenticeship and training group Carter & Carter plc on behalf of client Newcastle College Group.
The team completed the transaction, in fewer than 24 hours, at 4.30am on Good Friday in a purchase that saves over a thousand jobs and guarantees that many thousands of people on government-backed training schemes can continue their courses.
Watson Burton education and employment partner Paul McGowan said: “This was an unprecedented deal. We brought together senior specialists to cover all aspects of the purchase and were able to react with speed to an extraordinarily tight timetable.”
