 The corporate team at Leeds’ Fox Hayes LLP has acted for AWP Environmental Ltd to secure up to £6m of equity funding for BCB Environmental Management Ltd for a proposed £18m energy-from-waste (EfW) plant at Tockwith, North Yorkshire.
Planning permission is currently being sought for the plant, which will be constructed alongside existing BCB premises at Marston Business Park, between Wetherby and York. A further funding of £12m will be provided after permission is granted.
Commenting on the deal, partner and head of the Fox Hayes corporate law team Marcus Armstrong said: “This deal represents a significant milestone in BCB’s history and we are delighted to have been a part of it. It also demonstrates the strength of the market for private equity funding in new and emerging environmental technologies.”
