HLW And McCombies Merge

10/06/08

The Leeds office of HLW Commercial Lawyers LLP has merged with McCombie & Co.

The merged company - to be called HLMW McCombie - will be offering a range of commercial law service to the region's SMEs. The 20-strong team, which includes four partners, will be jointly headed by insolvency specialist David Guest and Ian McCombie, an expert in commercial litigation.

HLW McCombie will complement the Sheffield office of HLW Commercial Lawyers LLP which continues to trade under its original name. It will initially operate out of its respective offices in Leeds city centre.

Ian McCombie, who set up his own practice with his wife in 1994, said: "The growing reputation of HLW Commercial Lawyers in Yorkshirt is testament to its commitment to supporting the region's SMEs. The merger will further enhance the level of delivery to our respective clients as we develop and expand our specialisms."

Ron Whitlam, managing partner of HLW Commercial Lawyers added: "The expertise and experience of Ian and his team, especially in commercial litigation, employment, licensing  and sports law complements HLW's insolvency, property and employment teams and provides a strong basis for the continued expansion of our corporate services.
